You should stop learning!

You have your reasons for why you are on a never-ending quest of learning. For you, it can be to stay top of mind in your industry, and for others, it can be to keep gaining knowledge of novel fields.

Whatever your reasons are, you’ve had enough. It is time to throw in the towel on learning. Learning is not an end in itself, but a means to an end.

The end of learning is to put to practical application what you have learned to create a solution to an existing problem or build systems and structures to prevent the existence of a problem.

Learning never stops. When you stop learning, you stop growing and when you stop growing, you become obsolete and lose relevance before people that would require your value.

I have come to discover over time that for a lot of people, the learning phase is just a guise. It’s okay if you are trying to figure out the next step for you and you make a choice to keep learning in that period. What isn’t okay, however, is staying on the learning track because you are scared and not confident in your abilities to show proof of everything you have learned so far.

Let’s talk about applications and how people even with the right qualifications second guess themselves and feel they still need more knowledge before they put themselves forward. No matter the learning you go through, you still need practicality to see if you learned something and more importantly, your comprehension of it.

A well-received phrase is that people with less qualifications but more confidence are stepping into rooms you don’t even know exist because you are waiting to be perfect before you put your best foot forward. (Paraphrased)

Being nervous and sometimes anxious about an opportunity especially when it is tedious shows many times that you are on the right track. If it is something you can handle easily without much thought and planning, then you might be thinking too small.

Difficult choices and hard tasks most times equate to results that produce a soft life.

Stop waiting till you are perfect. Start from where you are and give it the best shot right there.

I’m rooting for you!
