It’s yours to keep!

You weren’t created to be an island. Man is a social being and it is expected as a man (male and female) that you make the most of the social interactions available to you.

Life isn’t promised to be linear, it comes with ups and downs and it would be humans (including you) through their actions and inactions that will occasion the topsy-turvy of life.

We are taught to manage the expectations we place on people to reduce the hurt and disappointments they may occasion. This, however, doesn’t change the fact that whatever has happened to you and will happen to you stays with you. It reinforces actions in the future and influences the choices you make.

You can determine nevertheless to channel your experiences to creating the best version of you. If you solely live vicariously through your experiences (especially bad ones), you wouldn’t see the world as an avalanche of possibilities but as a place where everyone is out to get you.

Think about your workplace and all the skills you have garnered since you gained the employment. The place might be toxic and you are putting in unhealthy hours for work but everything you get to learn doesn’t stay with the organisation when you need it, it stays with you.

The knowledge forms part of your experience and the proficiency you have will determine further choices you’ll make in your future learnings (education); for some, their professional expertise trickles down to every aspect of their lives including their relationships.

The happiness, love, pain, brokenness, hurt, hard work with every other thing you encounter in life, are yours to keep. People can and will only sympathise with you, in some cases empathise with you but only you can feel the brunt or fulfillment from things you go through in life.

In essence, it is important that you are true to yourself and make the most out of situations. You don’t have to live as a reactor, you can always create the life that you want out of the flaws that you have faced or are faced with right now.

Regardless of where you are at in life, remember that you can always move forward and no progress is inconsequential.
