I see people, young people in love, sometimes married and I ask myself, is finding love that easy?
Well, amazingly this writing talks about love in some part but not about my love life.
I saw a Netflix movie titled “Ile Owo” (House of Money) and I drew up some lessons that I think are worthwhile and you might find useful.

Picture from Google. A lot of amazing actors starred in this movie by the way😊.
The movie is centered on a family that uses young virgins to retain their youthful looks and it’s a cycle that has to be renewed.
On the other hand, is another family with regular family issues: no money, sick father and husband, low income mum; the daughter, a nurse who barely makes enough (we see this where she steals drugs for her sick dad), has a rough love life and is the next target for the renewal.
This family is portrayed as one that believes in God and the lessons stem from them.
– Believing and exercising your faith isn’t just in the act, it’s an heart work.
If you say you believe in God, you will portray it in your conduct but conducts might sometimes not be a representation of where your heart is.
In the movie, Busola was seen praying and sending ‘godly’ messages plus being really calm but when issues that tested her ‘spirituality’ came up, she couldn’t even shout the name of Jesus. (Wow!)
The phrase can be cliche but when used rightly, it works wonders.
– Your association says a lot about you.
In the world today, we have friends for different reasons but when your core doesn’t share some of your ideals, then it’s either you don’t know who you are or you are just pretending.
Her boyfriend and her best friend weren’t believers and this landed her in issues upon issues.
– Your parents will not always be right.
Busola had proper guidance from her mum but the dad was a louder influence who aligned with her immediate needs better.
– Obedience
It’s important to trust the guidance of our parents as they can discern some unseeming situations. Busola triumphed finally because of her simple adherence to her mum’s guidance.
– Know God for yourself and trust your convictions.
No matter how many spiritual people you have around you, have a personal relationship with God and be bold enough to take important decisions when you don’t trust situations around you.
Busola was feeling uncomfortable a lot about staying in the man’s house even though her dad was there. She had the option to stay at her mum’s bedside but somehow settled in and stayed with the man.
The most important legacy you can leave for anyone isn’t material things but Jesus. Having money, a spouse, an Instagram worthy life doesn’t save you when push comes to shove.
Please see the movie to get more details. Let me know if you loved this mini review.
Cheers.
