I have quite a number of covert rules that you don’t see until you touch the pain points.
In life, it is important to live by values and these values don’t necessarily have to be based on where you are presently.
You can take cues from mentors, role models, organizations you have seen build a culture you want to pattern after and other options available to you.
The values you imbibe and make a culture of for yourself show how you see yourself. They show how much premium you place on yourself or not.
You are your values and they are you. Does this mean they cannot be broken? No, they very well can.
We plan our days, months and even years but eventualities and realities can preempt those plans we have made.
We meet people, move countries and see things in a different light; we get to the point where we feel we can ‘finally live’ and at some point or the other, some of our values start becoming burdensome to live with.
I cannot speak for you but I know as we keep growing and gaining exposure, some things still shouldn’t change but improve through access to advanced technologies and ways of doing things.
I know life can be tough; you want to make it big in business and your career path but you can still hold on to your values and thrive.
What can be trite is a reevaluation of your values to see where you can cut out excesses that are products of childish inclinations now that you know better.
A man that stands for nothing will fall for anything and he that isn’t fully grounded in what he believes can be tossed to and fro like the wind without knowing.
Don’t fall out of your values for people, things, because at the end of the day you are all you’ve got. Also, those you adjust ‘negatively’ for would mostly leave you not better than they met you.
Be wise. This is your life, have values that transcend you and work at making yourself the value.
Thank you for reading.
