Living out your dream.

You can create the life that you want.

Just stop kidding around thinking you need to get to a particular age to live the kind of life you want to live or that someone would hand it to you on a platter (well, if you are a trust fund kid then yes).

Hold up, I’m not saying be covetous; all I’m saying is,to take responsibility for your life and know that you are actually living your life and not just existing as part of the story of someone else’s life.

I was inspired by the caption of a WhatsApp Influencer. This is a very young person and she just started out as an influencer and with the needed mentoring and Coaching she has picked up really fast but that’s not the point of study.

I was checking through her WhatsApp status post and I saw that she was learning makeup and she said after she learnt makeup, the next thing she was going to learn to be a complete baby girl in this quarter is driving.

That sent something to my mind and it made me think that honestly, if you want to do something, you need to make yourself do it, as nobody is coming to help you do it. You have to kick yourself up and do it.

You need to be responsible for your life. There are people around you: your parents, your friends, loved ones among others; you can only tell them your dreams and they can send you opportunities, encourage you, and all that but at the end of the day it is your decision to make that move that will or might change your life.

You know where the shoe pinches, you know if this is what you want to do, you know how what you want to do makes you feel.

This isn’t saying because it’s your dream, everything is going to be smooth and rosy but it is your decision at the end of the day, and no matter the consequences, you know you are taking steps toward the life you have envisioned.

Start looking at yourself as you look at those people you greatly admire. I heard someone speak and she said, if you saw yourself the way God sees you, you wouldn’t doublethink a lot of decisions and most especially downplay yourself.

Look at yourself and see how far you have come (even if you haven’t done much, the little you have done is a testament to how much more you can do).

You might do things now to survive daily but don’t discard the life you want to live.

Write it down, put up pictures, speak it into existence, wake up earlier to do the extra, start small, among other things.

It’s important to note that even when things get tough, we grow with it and not quit. Tough situations help us see the extent to which our capacity can and has grown.

You can live the life of your dreams. All you need to do is take it one step at a time and with the right guidance, preparation, and opportunities, you’ll start paving a better path even for those coming behind.
