It is no news that the show Big Brother Naija whenever on, takes the top chart on the most watched shows and also the minds of most youths and a whole lot of adults.
The glitz, the glamour and the fun doesn’t just stay for the show but it lingers even after the show.
This could be hard to keep up with most especially by the housemates (the name participants are called in the house).
This is mostly because most of the glamorous show(display) in the house were made possible by Big Brother Naija and their many sponsors.
When they are out of the house either through eviction or after the final week, they are seen as ‘hot stuff’ and everyone is looking forward to the next big deal they would get signed to or something grand they will do.
Brands, big and small are looking out for the trendiest of the housemates to get affiliated with their products to increase visibility and triple sales…
Regardless of how the above goes, the impact of a reality TV star is mostly seen months after the show is completed.
Reading a comment made by an ex housemate; he stated that they have to work twice as hard to show they are worthy of all the prominence the show has given to them.
Many Big Brother Winners have been forgotten while those who didn’t get to the finals have built a name for themselves with the platform they received from Big Brother.
I would say going to a reality show like Big brother Naija is not an end in itself and one should have a workable goal to actualize before going into the house.
Reality shows in general especially in Nigeria can change anyone’s life mostly positively but in the end, it is just a means and a platform to making the most out of your own talent.
